By the time you see the \u201cTwisted\u00a0Devils\u201d in action at the robotics\u00a0competitions, a lot of prep and planning\u00a0has gone into making these robots.<\/p>\n

\u201cFirst, they release the information\u00a0about what we are doing this year. Then\u00a0we go into our own separate rooms and\u00a0brainstorm ideas on what the robot should\u00a0look like,\u201d sophomore Nathan Wisser said.<\/p>\n

\u201cNext we go into the build phase where\u00a0we gather parts and start doing basic\u00a0programming. And then after, we do any\u00a0modifications needed to perfect our robot,\u201d\u00a0Wisser said.<\/p>\n

Robotics is more than just building the\u00a0robot–many sub-teams are within the main\u00a0team. Electrical, Media, Marketing and\u00a0Safety all play a factor in the process.<\/p>\n

Safety is a major job when it comes to\u00a0the robotic competitions.<\/p>\n

As a safety team member, freshman\u00a0Georgia Barton said their duty was to make\u00a0sure everyone did their jobs safely.<\/p>\n

\u201cLike wearing their safety glasses and\u00a0lifting the robots the right way,\u201d Barton said.<\/p>\n

Other members ran the media aspect\u00a0of the team.<\/p>\n

\u201cI operate the web site, and this year I\u00a0designed our logo,\u201d sophomore Lori Swift\u00a0said.<\/p>\n

Swift isn\u2019t the only one who works on\u00a0the media team.<\/p>\n

\u201cI work on the web site, take pictures\u00a0and operate the \u2018Twisted Devils\u2019 YouTube\u00a0channel,\u201d senior Chase Courtney said.<\/p>\n

While these aspects of the team\u00a0are important, the members who make\u00a0and operate the robot allow the team to\u00a0compete.<\/p>\n

\u201cI work on the construction and the\u00a0fabrication making sure that it operates\u00a0correctly,\u201d sophomore Rowan Sheehan\u00a0said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
