{"id":754,"date":"2015-11-20T12:29:21","date_gmt":"2015-11-20T17:29:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/acutabove.wpengine.com\/?p=754"},"modified":"2015-12-04T13:01:40","modified_gmt":"2015-12-04T18:01:40","slug":"shakespeare-brought-to-life","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/acutabove.mipamsu.org\/?p=754","title":{"rendered":"Shakespeare Brought to Life"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Bailey Ford<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Gull<br \/>\nGull Lake HS<br \/>\n1st Place<br \/>\nDivision 4, Yearbook<br \/>\nAcademic Writing<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Anticipation buzzed through the room as Language Arts teacher Trisha Stevens guided her freshmen through a project focused on Shakespeare.<br \/>\n\u201cWe went into groups, and we chose a topic to work on,\u201d freshman Amara Nadwornik said.<br \/>\nStevens came up with a plan for the freshmen\u2019s own Shakespearean Festival.<br \/>\n\u201cWe had our own little stations and had other classes come in,\u201d Nadwornik said.\u201cWe would go around and explain what our<br \/>\ntopic was about, and they would listen.\u201d<br \/>\nFreshman Autumn Hoyt explained the content her team presented.<br \/>\n\u201cGrace Lehman and I made a dress for ours, and it took us a really long time. We made a poster of what they wore, so we did the fashion for Renaissance,\u201d Hoyt said.<br \/>\nNadwornik and her group did some food prepping for her presentation on Renaissance parties, including a poster with facts from different data bases, sample foods and sparkling wine.<br \/>\n\u201cBasically what they would have there,\u201d Nadwornik said. \u201cWe also brought masks because they would have a lot of masquerade balls.\u201d<br \/>\nFreshman Isaiah William was part of another group that did the music of Shakespeare.<br \/>\n\u201cThere is this sailor song that related to Shakespeare,\u201d Williams said, \u201cand the song dealt with two people who were from different parts of the sea, and they didn\u2019t like each other. It was a really sad song, and we sang it.
