Y-23. Alternative Story Form Presentation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A single story presented in a format other than traditional, narrative text IN PLACE OF<\/strong> the dominant story on the spread. Subordinate mods on the spread should be submitted in the Mod\/Sidebar Coverage category. Formats may include, but are not limited to, Q and A, Pro\/Con, Timeline, Bio Box, Quote Collection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Judging Criteria<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
    \n
  • Introduction draws reader into the story and provides context and background necessary to understand the story<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Meaningful student quotes tell the story of the event\/activity and reflect effective interviewing<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Evidence of adequate research<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Adheres to rules of good journalism including: short paragraphs, effective transitions and use of active voice, freedom from editorial comment, careful editing and proofreading to eliminate mechanical errors, correct use of grammar<\/li>\n\n\n\n
