Live Sports Announcer<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A compilation of a talent\u2019s best on-air work as play-by-play, color commentator or sideline reporter. The airchecks should be recorded at a live sports event in real time. The announcer does not have to always appear on-camera, and the entry may be limited to announcer speaking over video of game action. Attire is a factor in the judging. Judges will assume the airchecks represent only your best work; think of this as a demo reel to become a sports play-by-play or color commentator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Judging Criteria<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>WRITING<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Is the writing clear, concise and conversational? Does the reporter use active voice and present tense? Does the script complement the visuals?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>RATE OF SPEECH<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Do you talk too fast\/slow?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>COMMUNICATION OF IDEAS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Do we understand what you\u2019re talking about?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>COMMUNICATION OF EMOTION<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Do you use voice fluctuation? Do you have emotion in your voice? Are you monotone?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>MIC WEAKNESS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>&nbsp;Is your microphone too close or too far? Do we hear the sound of your paper script?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>SINCERITY<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Do you come across as being genuine?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>NATURALNESS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Do we enjoy listening to you? Does it sound like you know what you\u2019re doing?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>CREDIBILITY<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>&nbsp;Does it sound like YOU know what you\u2019re talking about? Do you give credit to any sources that might be applicable?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>PROFESSIONAL ATTIRE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Are you dressed appropriately? Tuxedos and prom dresses aren\u2019t necessary, but t-shirts and jeans aren\u2019t appropriate either.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>OVERALL IMPRESSION<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>AUTOMATIC DISQUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If the video does not meet the specific time requirement (such as the 30\/60s rule for PSAs &amp; Commercials) (not including any black\/slates before or after the video itself).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the video does not meet the category description.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the video includes copyrighted music or graphics<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>USE OF MUSIC OR OTHER CONTENT THAT IS NOT CREATED BY STUDENT STAFF MEMBERS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If any music is included in an entry, indicate the title(s) of track(s) used and source of the music.
