A single mod or sidebar on a topic that supplements or adds to related content on a page, on a spread or in chronological coverage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Judging Criteria<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
  • The mod\/sidebar should have its own mini-headline, which often verbally supports the theme statement and\/or explains the content of the mod<\/li>
  • Type sizes for the mod\u2019s primary\/secondary headline combination is appropriate for the design and reflects knowledge of design hierarchy. <\/li>
  • Content is in a form that makes it appealing as well as easily accessible to the reader<\/li>
  • Evidence of adequate research<\/li>
  • Contents enhance spread coverage by adding meaningful information and\/or insights either to the topic of the spread or additional chronological coverage. <\/li>
  • Adheres to rules of good journalism including: short paragraphs, effective transitions and use of active voice, freedom from editorial comment, careful editing and proofreading to eliminate mechanical errors, correct use of grammar<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
